Bus Conduct (download as pdf file to print) 28k
1) We must conduct ourselves in a professional manner. A sort of a "calm intensity." No shouting. No tempers.
2) We must be respectful, as workers of I.P. see our cause as a threat to their jobs. This is, of course, not true. The installation of an electrostatic precipitator would contribute to the longevity and future of the plant.
3) If you wish to speak, please go right to the building and sign up as soon as we get there. We speak in the order we sign in. How many would like to speak?
4) I will hand out index cards just before we get there. You can put your comments in writing and send them to the N.Y State Department of Environmental Conservation. The address is in the newsletter, which I will also give you. I have pens as well.
5) There may be too many people for all of us to get in. If that is the case, some of us should consider stepping out after a while, so that others can get in. Some of the people outside may have important comments.
6) Applause may be loud and enthusiastic but keep it under control. Once it ends, please be silent for the next speaker.
7) If a speaker gives an opposing point of view or simply states an untruth, we will not interrupt. We must make sure someone speaks for us and corrects the statement. That can be you.
8) Bring a snack. We will try to have apples and water for you.
9) When you are ready to leave, go to the buses, which will begin to leave one at a time by around 8:45.
